The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the historic center, just a short walk away from all the main tourist attractions. The room was spacious and clean, with modern facilities and a cozy atmosphere. The breakfast served was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. Additionally, the hotel provided the best WiFi we have had during our stay in Italy.
The language barrier was a bit challenging, as the staff had difficulty understanding English, making communication difficult at times.

The rooms at B&B Al Convento are cozy and comfortable, with a private entrance and air conditioning. As a laid-back traveler, I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the convenience of having my own space. The ensuite bathrooms are a nice touch, and the free toiletries were a pleasant surprise. It's the little things that make a difference, and this place definitely pays attention to those details. The shared kitchen was a great bonus. It allowed us to prepare some meals and saved us some money. The flat-screen TV in each room was perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring Matera. It felt like a home away from home.
While some might enjoy it, I personally found the sensory shower in the private bathroom a bit overwhelming. But hey, to each their own!

The cave room was well-furnished with modern amenities and a giant bathtub built in an old cistern. The comfortable beds and air conditioning made for a pleasant stay. Mimma and Enzo, the owners, were extremely helpful and kind, providing information and going above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. The breakfast was superb, featuring freshly baked pastries and the famous Matera bread.
Felt fine, no complaints.

Everything was exceptional during 2 days, thoroughly enjoyed its marvellous location really close to Matera, the center and the sasso Caveoso. The staff was very amiable and friendly and the host too. King room I stayed at was fabulous with character. They offered me fresh meals, had a great selection of options to choose from. I didn't feel like leaving, spent memorable time and can recommend.

Hotel overlooked courtyard and the room was reasonably spacious. There were climate control, multi-channel television and a mini fridge bar in the room, loved that. The bed was exceptionally comfortable with hypo-allergenic pillows. The property had an incredible location in the middle of Matera. I tried some drinks at wine bar Taverna re Manfredi, located 5 minutes walk away. It made my trip to Matera a truly memorable experience.

Also, the location is convenient and ideal, minutes from a monumental 1200s cathedral. The bets part that it's adjacent to all attractions and southern Italy...

Wow, what an amazing room! We felt like we were in a fairytale, staying in a beautifully decorated cave. The modern facilities were top-notch, especially the plumbing - no worries about hot water here! And the location couldn't have been better, right in the heart of the historic city. We were able to easily explore all the sights and attractions on foot. Plus, the breakfast served outside was absolutely incredible. Fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, and the famous local bread - we were in food heaven!
We did encounter a couple of downsides during our stay. the price was a bit on the expensive side, but considering the unique experience and exceptional service, we felt it was worth it.

Loved our memorable stay there a lot. We only stayed here for 1 night, as we didn't have time, nevertheless everything was exceptional. The location in the middle of the city was fantastic. Could reach the bus stop within 20 minutes’ walk.

The room at B&B Al Convento was cozy and comfortable, with a private entrance that made me feel right at home. The ensuite bathroom was lovely, with complimentary toiletries and a refreshing sensory shower. As a business traveler, these small touches made all the difference.
Personally, I found the shared kitchen to be a bit crowded, but I understand that others might enjoy the opportunity to meet fellow guests.
